Sanford, FL Weekend Getaway

S a n f o r d Joe and I like to explore our surroundings,  near and far. Just recently we decided to do a little weekend getaway to Sanford,  Florida. Sanford sits on the northern tip of the greater Orlando, Florida area. From there its a decent drive to more central Orlando themeparks etc. But unlike Orlando with its stop and go traffic the traffic in Sanford is within "normal range".  So we booked house sitters for our boys as usual and were ready to go! Now, we've never heard of Sanford before. But that just happened to be the location of an Eagles cover band concert we wanted to see. It being a 3 hour drive from our home, it was worth staying there overnight.  Let me tell you, hotel or Airbnb rates for that area were insane. New Mexico - our 2 months stay

The Organ mountains have been our view for the past 2 months. As I am writing this,  we have exactly one day left before it's time to leave Las Cruces behind. We'll be off to new adventures.  We came to Las Cruces to property sit. A 2 months arrangement we happen to find on "The caretaker Gazette". I'd be lying if I said that this city was love at first sight.  Our best friend "Google " wasn't coming up with much on the most important search word in the Kazimer tiny home: "places to dance in Las Cruces"!  It produced a sad result of ONE country bar and nothing for latin clubs. I kept changing around my search words in hopes that it was my personal error. Sometimes being right is great. In this case I was hoping to be wrong! I wasn't. So we gave Whiskey Dicks a try. Destin Army Recreation Area, FL

The Destin Army Recreation Area Florida   🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝  The location and cost of this place are the best features.  On one side of this park you have awesome views of Choctawhatchee Bay and another 3 miles (approximately) and you are at the beach.   This campground is a combination of RV sites with a handful of pull thru's but mostly back in sites that can take a little navigation to squeeze in. The other feature here are the guest houses and "hotel rooms " that are available for rent.  Most of these have bay views. For kids there's a splash park and play ground. The swimming 🏊‍♂️ pool is a definite bonus with its shady covered areas to just "be ". We paid $ 40 per night for our full hookup site. Prices vary by rank.  For us, this is on the upper end of what we are used to paying at FamCamps/military installations but fact is, you pay more because you are at a desirable area of Florida.  Click on the link below for more info about this RV...
