In case you haven't already noticed,  I love photography!  Everywhere Joe and I go, every place we visit, inspires me to take pictures. And then some! Here is a collection of bridges throughout the varies States we've driven thru. I hope you'll enjoy looking at these as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Los Angeles - the rich and the poor

Image
In all these months of traveling and experiencing some big cities, many small towns and endless dots on the map, did we ever come across such diversity as we did in 'THE CITY OF ANGELS". Ferraries and BMW's drive next to old beaters. A city that attracts millions of tourists, a city that everyone knows for its glamour and stars, no matter where in the world you are. How can there be so much homelessness? After seeing the first tent, I started questioning what I saw.   Then more and more make-shift shelters and tents popped up:  On sidewalks,  in medians,  on overpasses,  on the sides of 6-lane highways and in parks. We couldn't drive a block without seeing them. These clusters of tents had been there for a while, too. I started googling 'homelessness in LA" out of curiosity and sadness for these people. I like statistics to help me understand . Here is what Dr. Google presented to me ...: Acc

Unexpected friendships

Image
Little did I know that writing a blog and posting our story on Facebook to share a part of our life, would lead to unexpected friendships. Sharing our journey is no big deal to me. I enjoy connecting with people, whether I know them or not. It makes life more interesting. What I didn't know was, that every now and then there's someone out there that decides to connect back! This is where I am excited about what I do: To share a bit about me and Joe and our journey with YOU! The first encounter,  so to say, came shortly after we had left Colorado for the first time, 6 months ago. We were enjoying time in Loveland, CO when I had posted that we were going to come back to our hometown of Colorado Springs for a quick stop before leaving for good. I received a message from a lovely couple, expressing an interest in our newly adopted lifestyle and soon to be long journey through the US. Considering that lifestyle for themselves, they were curious about how we changed our

For the love of animals

Image
For the love of animals  Not everyone can relate.  We live in 280 sf and chose to share our tiny space not with one, nor two or even three pets.  NO, we are literally maxed out travelling with  F I V E. ********************** The boys after a bicycle run... ********************** Alright I should adjust my choice of words at this point.  Joe, being the level-headed, make-sense-at-all-times..-logical-thinker kind of guy would have chosen a different scenario,  if it wasn't for his very spontaneous-go-with-your-first-instinct kind of wife.  But as a loving husband he has adapted and learned that some things, especially animals, are a losing battle to start. Animals are gonna win. Sorry JoJo.  I love you! So back to the zoo. We have altered our daily activities around these critters.  Milo, who just celebrated his 17th birthday. As an older gentleman, he wears diapers. Diapers need changing, every few hours, or else! Kitty and b

Walk-in closet renovation

Image
When we started our travels August 1st 2019, we had created a walk-in closet in the back of the living room.  Downsizing was tough enough, so I at least had to hold on to something that was dear to me: My rather large assortment of clothes...well and shoes!  One has to travel in style, you know. The back of the trailer when we originally started to renovate. BEFORE we ever put in the walk-in closet. Then came the finished walk-in closet that didn't survive. In order to house these clothes and all, Joe had to build a clothes rack,  that stretched from wall to wall. Then we also had brought 2 dressers from our previous home, for that space. It was a good set up because it was all situated under the king sized loft, that was above. This loft was then used as additional storage space. Well the rough Texas highways did a number on this construction. First, half of the above loft partially collapsed.  Joe fixed it by reinforcing the structure. But the rough
