A journey across the US

WE MADE IT

6 weeks of traveling, crossing the southern parts of the US.

6 weeks ago we embarked on this journey, leaving behind a beautiful serene place that we fell in love with instantly.

Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead, Escondido,  CA.

Just to trade it in for what was really a lot of uncertainty.

,Not knowing if our new temporary home would be equally wonderful.

Oklahoma City,  OK

6 weeks ago we packed up our things, yet again. The plan was to drive an average of 3 to 4 hours per day.
To not rush but take things slow, to " smell the roses" along our long path.
This journey took us through California, Arizona, New Mexico,  Texas, Oklahoma,  Arkansas, Mississippi,  Alabama and finally FLORIDA!

But in the real world,  it's not just those red roses along the way. Obstacles scattered our path like thorns,  to remind us that one must sometimes master obstacles to really appreciate the journey at its fullest.

Riding across the Mississippi River in Memphis, Tennessee

The replacement parts, the dashboard warning light, occasional migraines, the threat of hurricane Delta.

Along the way, we got to connect with friends, making this trip even more memorable.

To offset the traveling expenses we are looking for jobs.

Yep, this lifestyle isn't for the weak,  seriously!

The longer the journey,  the more gas, diesel and RV park expenses!

We are lucky that we get to take advantage of Famcamps, when available.

But even when using these more affordable places,  RVing is expensive. Before becoming nomads, we used to enjoy dining out, trying new local restaurants. Now these days we indulge in fast food $$menu selections....🍔

Finally crossing into Florida is a dream come true.

While talking to my lifelong girlfriend, that lives in Tampa, we reflected back to the day, years ago, when a seed was planted...:

While visiting her I fell in love with her city 💕.  The palm trees 🏝,  turquois water everywhere, the Spanish influences, and the never ending summer.

I remember standing in the warm refreshing ocean, a stone's throw from Saint Petersburg, overcome with happiness 😊 and loving this moment so much.

I knew, one day I had to come back!

Today,  years later we remembered how it started and what followed... Not only did I get to make my dream come true, but I am fortunate enough to have a loving husband who shares my vision.

Today we arrived in Largo, Florida.

The thorns didn't slow us down.

Today that seed finally finished its journey and what grew was a beautiful flower 🌼.

H E L L O Florida....!
