The quest of overcoming challenges

The moment you were longing for. You knew it existed but the longer time went by, the more unreachable it seemed to get.

Have you ever felt it? Joe and I felt stuck in that place, going on 8 years.  You're probably perplexed now? Wait, they packed up their things, followed there dream of traveling and living in Florida.  They did it!

And you're right. Absolutely.

What you don't know is that while all of this was achievable and wonderful,  Joe's search for a fulfilling job has been a long journey.  A journey full of writing resumes over and over again. Nothing. Disappointment. Every time someone had an input of what he should change his resume to, he took their advice.  It never seemed to make a difference though.  It felt like his immense success in his 28 years of Airforce life didn't seem to matter to anyone but Joe.  Was he over-qualified? Was he too old? We had endless  conversations about the "why's", and what could be done better to finally get that longed-for job offer. These questions sometimes messed with our dreams. Was it a waste of time to keep dreaming?

In the meantime he settled. Took jobs that didn't stimulate his mind. Didn't fit his knowledge,  leaving him feeling insignificant and even depressed.

8 years in the waiting.

It started with coming across yet another job post. This one was different. Posted as a "part time personal assistant" job with several specifications listed of qualities the employer was looking for, as always.  Something was different,  the requested qualifications seemed odd.  But with our adventurous spirits we agreed, it was worth exploring.  The resume got sent.

The response came fast. Followed by a phone conversation. Followed by an in -person meeting that ended with an immediate job offer.

What started as a small personal assistant job has now  accelerated into taking a look at the company as a whole and helping to take it to a higher level.

8 years in the waiting. The moment we knew existed somewhere has finally arrived.  We're feeling it. We're now living it.

Now my busband is inspired. He can finally use his previous experiences and immense knowledge. At the end of the work day I hear stories that are intriguing.  Listening to him talk about his ideas and inspirations makes me feel so attracted to him all over again.  Confidence is sexy.

We no longer hold back on other dreams, small and big. They are reachable again. What a wonderful feeling.

Most importantly, my husband is back.

The smartest man I personally know.
