Diversity everywhere

Image
As we continue our journey and are now slowly making our way across the US from California to Florida,  it couldn't be more obvious how different each state is from another.  There are the obvious COVID19 safety standards.  In California people obey the 6 ft. distance rule inside stores.  In Arkansas,  not nessesarry!  In New Mexico we got to finally enjoy some dancing; outside at our favorite winery. It was wonderful!   Amaros Winery in Las Cruces,  NM Seeing familiar faces             The one way isles in stores don't seem to exist in Arkansas at this point. Leaving me feel almost normal, if it wasn't for the dreaded face mask. In Oklahoma people mingled mask-free at the RV park and helped us with our broken down truck, Covid or not.   Our spot at the famcamp in OKC Enjoying a walk around the adjacent pond  We just heard that Florida lifted its face mask mandate.  Can't wait to see what the new but also old normal of seeing faces will be like. Wait! Lipstick 💄?   I

Tinker AFB Famcamp, Oklahoma City, OK

Tinker AFB        Famcamp   Oklahoma City, OK 🛩🛩🛩🛩🛩🛩🛩🛩🛩 This small grassy RV park truly is a little gem.  We loved 💕 that it is surrounded by trees and trails and has its own pond, that adds charm.  The laundry facility deserves special attention!  The charge per load for washers and dryers is an unheard of .50 cents per load and the daily rate for RV parking a very reasonable $ 20 per night 🌙 (as of Sept.  2020)!  With a gas station and Domino's pizza 🍕 next door you have some basic conveniences within a very short walk.  Pros: -Very affordable  -Pet friendly  -Trail system -Concrete, leveled pads -Grass  Cons:  -Occasional train &  plane noise -No on-site dog park  -No dog bag stations  Be sure to use gate 34 when entering with  a big rig! Kirtland AFB FamCamp, Albuquerque, NM

Kirtland Famcamp   Albuquerque   New Mexico   ***************** We arrived at this green and smaller RV park/Famcamp on Labor Day.  The registration office was not staffed, but check-in instructions were sufficient.  The park operates on a first come first serve basis.  Registration building, bathrooms & laundry:  Picture below:  The very impressive and fully covered playground is right in the park, adjacent to the dog run area. It is pet friendly with a great, well maintained, mostly shaded dog park within the RV park, that even has an agility course!  Wow. Very impressive. SEE PICTURE BELOW: We give this park,  that is in close proximity to most amenities, 👍👍! Evolving friendships- 1 year later

Image
As July 2020 comes to an end, I get to reflect on what traveling semi-permanently means to my friendships.   As mentioned in previous blogs, I've had moments, often, where I missed my friends back in Colorado. The longer we traveled the more I felt a disconnect from the people I had left behind.  10 days ago I got to hop on a Frontier flight back home. Well I should say "my former home". Colorado Springs. My kids and beautiful grandbaby got to spend valuable time together. Reconnecting and bonding over stories and simply just being in the same room.  Togetherness. I hadn't seen my grandbaby since he was born, 8 months ago. Holding him, endless kisses were long overdue and addictive: https://youtu.be/4V4VyNTq9aM Tabea and Julian, my awesome kids, that have always had a close bond. Watching them together aways means, lots of fun and laughter.  The afternoon where Tabea groomed Julian's uni-brow was priceless:   https://you

The Pet Family

280 sf and five pets...!  Its possible. And if it wasn't for our furry and feathery family our RV life would be half as fun and half as crazy. Here is some insight.... https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10221625043511479&id=1115421580&sfnsn=mo&d=n&vh=i Crazy Bird enjoying the sunshine  https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10222879401149636&id=1115421580&sfnsn=mo&d=n&vh=i Brotherly love  https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10221137520843717&id=1115421580&sfnsn=mo&d=n&vh=i O'Malley posing for the camera     Squeeze!  There's so much affection around here! Yes he thinks he's a laptop.  All 65 lbs. of him. Cuddle time Maggie just being her cool self. Big O'Malley trying to squeeze onto Milo's tiny bed. He made it work I think! Everybody gets a walk. Even Crazy Bird!

Mayflower dog park, Escondido, CA

This well maintenenced dog park has 3 fenced in dog enclosures.  One for small dogs, one for all other dogs and one for dogs that are fence jumpers (fence is taller in that enclosure). All 3 runs have gras,  benches and some shade. Water stations and dog waste stations are provided as well. There's a good amount of parking as well. The bonus is the nice view of the mountains all around.  We give this dog park  a👍
