Back to real life

               C HA N G E

 Well good day, fellow
humans. The day we have been anxiously working towards has come and gone already.  On December 14th 2021 we officially became apartment inhabitants. The time we've spent being vagabonds was a learning process. Challenging, rewarding and an experience we will always treasure.

But our hearts weren't in it anymore and we were so ready to become permanent residents of Saint Petersburg, Florida.

And with many things in life if things are too easy how would you appreciate the end result? Right? Finding a place to live with 4 pets was quite an uphill battle. There are size restrictions, breed restrictions, quantity restrictions. There are pet deposits, pet rent. You name it, they are tagged on.

But after endless phone calls, text messages, clicks on various websites and making Google my number ONE "go to" every day, we finally found THE place!

In the middle of the hustle and bustle of beautiful Saint Petersburg! Our backyard is literally the community swimming pool. Peanut and O'Malley enjoy running around and playing in the dog park. They've quickly learned the path to get there and lead us there every day.

I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so I can actually enjoy the beautiful swimming pool and
lounging.

The next few weeks after our official move in date we researched (are you noticing a pattern here?) and eventually set out to buy furniture. The joy of owning a lounge couch that fits both of us laying down and watching TV.

Oh how fun it is to move large and heavy items thru tiny openings! To make moving said items even more fun, we got to deal with furry statues that place themselves strategically in the way. Otherwise things would just get too boring around the Kazimer household!  And to add to the turmoil, Peanut ended up at the veterinary specialist several times with a health issue. Hence the stylish purple cone in the picture above.

So here we are, weeks into living at our new permanent residence. The dust has settled. On some days I miss the wilderness of the Fort De Soto area. And bike rides with water views in all directions. But on the upside being back in civilization gives me an excuse to play dress up. Simple as that!! We've also spent a great amount of time organizing our stuff, kicking out things that we no longer need and donating these.

Once again we rely heavily on Navigation to get us places.  You dive deep into "finding friends mode".You spend a lot of time researching what's going on in the area. Events. Things to do. Places to see. Restaurants to eat at.  The list goes on. Here is that word again: Research!  While it can be draining at times, it is always exciting to discover new things.

A random comparison: We left Colorado at 2500 ft² plus a 2 car garage. Changed our lifes to 280 ft² of tiny living.  Now we have settled into 700 ft² of apartment living.

How does one appreciate something if they have not experienced a variety of lifestyles. We often say that it's good to be on the other side. The side of renting an apartment. The luxury of calling maintenance when something breaks. Seeing what it's like not to have a 100% of all responsibilities at all times. Coming home and not having to fix something. Coming home and not having to maintain a large yard. Soon experiencing the joy and relaxation of a swimming pool without having to clean it. If you cannot compare, how do you really know what you desire?

All those things are yet to be determined. And I know we'll have a good time along the way. Together ❤.
