White Sands Ntl. Park, New Mexico

We visited this beautiful park, located 45 miles away from Las Cruces, New Mexico on a beautiful sunny January day. The gypsum dunes make for a nice walk, since they are firmer than regular sand dunes. Dogs are allowed on leashes and let me tell you, our dogs loved the sand hike! Walk-in closet renovation

When we started our travels August 1st 2019, we had created a walk-in closet in the back of the living room. Downsizing was tough enough, so I at least had to hold on to something that was dear to me: My rather large assortment of clothes...well and shoes! One has to travel in style, you know. The back of the trailer when we originally started to renovate. BEFORE we ever put in the walk-in closet. Then came the finished walk-in closet that didn't survive. In order to house these clothes and all, Joe had to build a clothes rack, that stretched from wall to wall. Then we also had brought 2 dressers from our previous home, for that space. It was a good set up because it was all situated under the king sized loft, that was above. This loft was then used as additional storage space. Well the rough Texas highways did a number on this construction. First, half of the above loft partially collapsed. Joe fixed it by reinforcing the structure....

OneTwoThreeGo: I was born in Bremen, Germany and have lived in the US permanently since 1995. In 2015 I decided to become an American Citizen while maintaining my German citizenship. I love to decorate, refinish furniture and most of all travel, which led to our new lifestyle. In October 2018 my awesome husband Joe and I bought our 5th wheel. Got change? If you always do what you've always done you will always get what you've always gotten. This is true to every aspect in life. While Joe is pretty adaptable when it comes to any kind of weather, especially the cold, I often told myself that my body just wasn't made for the cold. Period. For me, after having lived in Colorado Springs,CO for 23 years, I was tired of cold winters and looking/dressing like an eskimo in order to stay warm during cold winter days. The pet family: As our relationship progressed and we eventually got married three years later on April 22nd 2017, we started talking about options of where we could live one day outside of Colorado, sometime in the future. Life on the road is different

A lot of things are going thru my mind tonight. Most of the time we stay at camp grounds or State parks. Tonight we happen to be en 'route to our next destination and are staying the night at a halfway point. I am sitting here in a Walmart parking lot looking out my livingroom window, not far from Lake Tahoe in Nevada on this beautiful sunny September afternoon. I am reflecting back on the last 8 weeks of my new gypsy life. The life that my husband and I chose very willingly. Is it what I thought it would be? Is it what I was hoping it would be? It's what you make of it. I am a firm believer that we are not the victim of our circumstances. We make choices and if we don't like them, then we need to adjust them.
